BIO-key International, Inc. (BKYI.OB) Biometric Accuracy Improved by More Than 23% in Recent Testing

BIO-key International Inc. delivers advanced identification solutions to public and private enterprises. The company’s award-winning, high performance, cost-effective and easy-to-deploy biometric finger identification software accurately identifies and authenticates users of wireless and enterprise applications.

The company announced today that in the recent test results published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), BIO-key’s accuracy improved by a remarkable 23 percent on the DHS2 Dataset. The DHS2 Dataset is considered to be the most difficult dataset tested by the NIST Proprietary Template tests (PFT).

This NIST PFT test is a rigorous measure of an algorithm’s inherent accuracy. It exercises four different datasets of fingerprint images from various real-life government applications, such as Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State. The main result secured from these evaluations is an estimate of how well commercial products, such as BIO-key’s fingerprint product, performed one-to-one matching for verification over a range of applications.

The NIST test results ranked the company as one of the top three providers worldwide.
