Swisher, 27, has been signed through 2010 with an option for 2011.

In the deal the A’s picked up outfielder Ryan Sweeney, left-handed starter Gio Gonzalez and right-handed starter Fautino De Los Santos, all three of whom figure to find their way into a Major League uniform soon.
