The Kenyan government have agreed to recount the election ballots after a week of violence swept across the country over the re-election of Presidnt Mwai Kibaki. Many accuse the election of being rigged. The Foreign Minister of France, Bernard Kouchner has stated, “Were the elections rigged or not? I think so, many think so, the Americans think so, the British think so, and they know the country well.”

After a week of retaliation to the disputed re-election of President Mwai-Kibaki on December 27, the United Nations human rights investigators have urged Kibaki and Raila Odingoa to stop the killing. In a statement made on Friday, the UN showed concern for Kenyan security forces who have been reported to use unnecessary force with demonstrators.
Within one week over 300 people have died and 100,000 have been displaced away from their homes due to the ongoing riots in response to Kibaki’s re-election. Many still insist that the election was rigged.

Hanna McKinney died at the age of 20 at Camp Taji in Iraq. Her family was told that she died of “injuries suffered when she was struck by a vehicle” yet somehow, there is no record of the accident within the 1,460 pages of documents The Washington Post was able to get from the military. The only mention of the accident that was found states that her death was under criminal investigation which is a little different from what her parents were told.

A Nairobi, Kenya morgue is filled with the bodies of children as violence continues following the recent election. On December 27 incumbent president Mwai Kibaki won the election over Raila Odinga, the Orange Democratic Movement leader.
Violence erupted after Kibaki’s second presidential term was announced on Sunday. Over 300 people have already died in the violence that followed.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf denied allegations Thursday that he had any involvement in the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
He also admitted that he is not satisfied with the investigation into her death.
Musharraf said that Bhutto ignored government warnings of a potential assassination, which were brought to her attention "three or four weeks ago", according to him.
The threat was specific, naming Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi as the primary location of an iminent attack. Bhutto was indeed assassinated in the park.
The park, often a place for political gatherings, is named after Pakistan's first prime minister, Liaquat Ali Khan, who was assassinated in 1951.
Musharraf expressed his dissatisfaction with the way investigators immediately cleaned the area where Bhutto was killed, possibly wiping away key forensic evidence.

Portuguese police are believe to have handed prosecutors an interim report that declares Madeleine McCann was accidentally killed by her parents Gerry and Kate McCann and the two disposed of the 4-year-old’s body.
Thursday marks eight-months since the young girl disappeared from the Portuguese apartment in which she was staying with her parents and siblings while on vacation.

Malaysian Health Minister Chua Soi Lek has resigned from his position after a sex tape surfaced that included the married man along with a female friend.
